80% Of Young Adults Say They Would Choose to Go Back to School Online

Hoboken, NJ (PRWeb) July 9, 2007 -- Six out of ten Americans say that if they had to go back to school at some point, they'd be interested in doing it online, according to new research released by eLearners.com, the leading resource that specializes in connecting people with online education. What's more interesting is that even the younger generation is more compelled to go online, with 80% of young adults ages 18 - 24 indicating they would be interested in the online route if they wanted to take more courses or get a degree in the future.

"There is no doubt that online education has arrived. With each passing year, online education and training is becoming a more accepted and sought-after option for those seeking to advance their education," said Andrew Gansler, CEO of eLearners.com. "This data, combined with the more than 1.6 million students currently enrolled in fully online programs, confirms that online learning is a mainstream alternative."

Even the traditional objections to online education are starting to wane. Only half of the respondents to the survey considered the lack of interaction with professors and classmates as a possible drawback and only one-third of respondents indicated that they thought that employers don't value online education as much as traditional, which has historically been an issue for online providers.

To help prospective and current students understand the world of online education, eLearners.com offers a comprehensive database of information. The eLearners.com Guide to Online Education is a free handbook that features easy-to-navigate, concise, yet in-depth research, advice and "how-to" sections to answer online learners' questions. eLearners.com also has the eLearners Advisor®, which can help people determine if online learning is right for them.

"Online education is booming, but it's a relatively new form of education, so there are many questions," continued Gansler. "Through our eLearners Advisor® tool, we can help people determine whether online learning is suitable for them, and if so, how to make it a successful journey."

To help students sort out the finances of going back to school, eLearners.com recently launched its Debt-Free College Guide. The guide is the first of its kind, offering the most comprehensive database for loan forgiveness programs on the Internet. The guide offers more than 500 financing options, including grants, scholarships, tax incentives and loan forgiveness programs.
