Master of Public Administration – General Study emphasis

The University of Upper Iowa's Master of Public Administration program with a General Studies emphasis provides learners with the knowledge and skills needed to assume a leadership role and to improve administrative and managerial quality in government and non-profit organizations. UIU offers a flexible program that provides the essential components of a well-rounded public administration education, while allowing learners the flexibility to design a course of study that meets their specific career goals.

Our curriculum is built on the three pillars: The ability to effectively utilize the scientific method to address issues facing government agencies and non-profit organizations; Emphasis areas that develop administrative, leadership and management skills; and an understanding for the role public administration plays in maintaining and strengthening core democratic values.

UIU learners will be able to apply their analytical, communication, problem solving and research skills to the complex and often interconnected and interdisciplinary problems faced by mangers and leaders in government agencies and non-profit organizations.

Requirements:

Must have a High School diploma from before 2004. Must hold a BA or BS in Accounting (or have completed at least 30 undergraduate semester credits in accounting) from a regionally accredited institution and have a cumulative GPA of 2.75.
