The Social Entrepreneurship concentration is a direct reflection of Walden's social change mission and helps empower individuals to effect positive change by developing products, services, and solutions that address specific societal needs. Discover what it takes to create and maintain a successful business focused on social change, from the development of a business plan to day-to-day management. You will study how social entrepreneurs break through the status quo, reallocate resources, and creatively address their communities' challenges.

Throughout the program, you will:

  • Study how you can join other social entrepreneurs who are taking the lead nationally and globally in addressing poverty, responding to HIV/AIDS, and making nonprofit organizations more effective.
  • Examine many of the substantive and procedural aspects of social entrepreneurship.
  • Identify key challenges facing organizations that rely heavily on volunteers-and the most effective solutions.
