The Master of Public Administration (MPA) program offered by DeVry University focuses on developing concepts and skills needed to become effective managers in organizations lying outside the boundaries of the traditional business environment. Students must pursue either a government management, nonprofit management or health care management emphasis.

Those electing the government or nonprofit management emphasis must complete 15 courses (45 semester-credit hours): seven management core courses, six emphasis-specific courses, and two elective courses. One emphasis-specific course is a capstone project integrating material learned across key public administration areas. Students following the health care management emphasis must complete courses totaling the equivalent of at least 45 semester-credit hours, including seven management core courses (21 semester-credit hours); 18 semester-credit hours of emphasis-specific courses, including the MPA capstone course; and six semester-credit hours of electives.
