Designed around national teaching and licensure standards, this specialization is intended for educators and administrators who have completed a master’s degree and want to gain additional knowledge and increase their career options. People who choose this specialization are often licensed teachers or administrators interested in pursuing building or district leadership positions in the field of curriculum and instruction, or in continuing their studies at the doctoral level. (Equivalent course work taken as part of the EdS program may be applied to degree requirements for a Capella PhD degree.)

Applicants must be a licensed teacher, have a regionally accredited Bachelor's degree (or its foreign equivalent) and an undergraduate GPA of at least 2.7 (on a 4.0 scale) or its equivalent from an international institution.
On Campus Requirement:
As an EdS learner, you will attend residential colloquia in addition to your online courses. At specific milestones in your program, you will attend two colloquia, each six days in length.
