Value of a College Education
The average full-time wage and salary worker in the United States with a bachelor's degree earned $50,856, 65 percent more than those with a high school diploma or GED, whose annual earnings were $30,732 in 2008.
Individuals with a bachelor's also had a lower unemployment rate (2.8 percent compared to 5.7 percent unemployment rate of those with only a high school diploma or GED).
