This is an Occupational Associate's Degree Program.21 months (day program); 24 months (evening program)Program Objective:The objective of the Dental Assistant program is to provide the students with the appropriate theory and hands-on skills, required and necessary, to prepare them for entry level dental assistant positions in today's modern health and dental care offices, dental clinics, and facilities. Students receive an introduction to dental assisting, dental administrative procedures, dental radiography, dental sciences, operatory dentistry, dental laboratory procedures, and dental specialties.Employment Objectives:The goal of the Dental Assistant program is to provide graduates with the skills and knowledge enabling them to qualify for entry-level positions as dental assistants. Since they are trained in operatory, laboratory, radiographic and administrative procedures, their services are also sought by dental supply manufacturers, hospital dental departments, and insurance companies. Graduates are also capable of filling entry-level positions such as dental receptionists, dental insurance clerks, dental laboratory technicians, dental supply salespeople, dental administrative assistants, and dental lab technicians.
