Founded in 1934, Kendall is the #1 program in Chicago for preparing students for careers in culinary arts and hospitality management—ranked by Chicago Michelin Guide restaurants and Chicago’s leading hotels (KTNS Survey, 2017).

Our degree programs combine a strong academic foundation with transformative practical experience to get students ready for the world.

Kendall’s School of Culinary Arts was launched in 1985, beginning with an associate degree and later expanding to include a bachelor’s degree. Building on the success of the Culinary Arts program, Kendall launched a Bachelor’s in Hotel and Restaurant Management in 1987. These highly respected programs nurtured Kendall’s nationwide reputation.

In 2018, Kendall College became part of National Louis University (NLU), a large non-profit university based in Chicago. Under the auspices of the Kendall College of Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management at NLU, Kendall’s renowned programs in culinary arts, baking and pastry and hospitality management will continue.
