Liberty University is a private, non-profit Christian university located in Lynchburg, Virginia classified as a doctoral research university. As of 2016, there were approximately 110,000 students, of which about 100,000 were online students.
What Division Is Liberty University?
Liberty University has 20 NCAA Division 1 athletic teams. This includes men’s and women’s teams in:

This also includes men’s or women’s teams in sports such as Baseball, Softball, Football, Field Hockey, and others. The team names are the Liberty Flames or the Liberty Lady Flames. In addition to these Division 1 teams, Liberty University also has 37 Club Sports teams and 20 intramural sports.

What Are Liberty University’s Admission Requirements?
The undergraduate admissions requirements for Liberty University include:
- Send application, either online or via mail
- Payment of $50 application fee
- Official high school transcripts
- Official college transcripts (if applicable)
- Have maintained a 2.0 GPA in high school and during attending all accredited colleges

Liberty University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate, bachelors, masters, specialist, and doctoral degrees.
