Airframe & Powerplant Technician Program*

If you like power and excitement, then the Airframe and Powerplant Technician Program is the career for you! Our aviation training focuses on teaching students the precision technical skills necessary to become FAA Certified Airframe and Powerplant Technicians. Our graduates are ready for exciting and rewarding aviation careers!

Aviation Maintenance Technology*

Once you have chosen to pursue Airframe and Powerplant Technician Certification, consider adding a few short months of education to achieve an Associate's Degree, now available at MIAT.  The added curriculum will round out your Airframe and Powerplant Technician training with essential academic skills to move into more complex technical positions and managerial roles.  Employers who answered surveys from the MIAT Career Services Department stated they are looking for applicants who possess critical communication, problem solving and analytical skills that can be acquired by completion of a college degree.

Energy Technician Program

The Power Technician program was created in response to the energy industry asking for more qualified technicians. MIAT training provides the building blocks for basic technical knowledge, terminology, equipment, tools, safety procedures and professionalism needed in the power industry.

Wind Energy Technician Program

In this day and age, more and more of a focus is being placed on generating cost-efficient, environmentally friendly energy sources, leading to an increase in the demand for qualified energy technicians. At MIAT, the Wind Energy Technician program provides students the skills they need to be successful in this innovative field.

Global Logistics and Dispatch Program*

Logistics Specialists are people who enjoy making a difference in the world we live in. They are experts at moving goods and people in the most efficient and cost-effective methods possible. No two days or shifts are the same in the fast-paced settings. MIAT Graduates can work in aviation, trucking, fleet services, public service, emergency services, rail, and warehousing. Starting positions include Dispatchers, Crew Schedulers, Flight Followers, Logistics Associates, Account Representatives, and Customer Service Agents.

HVACR Technician Program

Become a sought-after Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVACR) Technician as new construction installations  and replacement of older systems drive growth  in the industry through 2020, according to U.S. Department of Labor reports. As new energy efficient models each the market, and pollution regulations, including prohibition of  older refrigerants, are phased in, more systems will  be retrofitted, upgraded, or replaced entirely. HVACR industry applications include a broad range of commercial, specialty and residential climate control systems, commercial refrigeration equipment, transportation technology, and emergency units.

MIAT with campuses in Detroit, MI and Houston, TX.

The hands-on training preferred by employers and provided by MIAT may require relocation to Michigan or Texas. MIAT has a student housing program and relocation would be necessary.
