Do you have an interest in joining the dental field? If so, Platt College’s Dental Assistant training program can give you the skills you need to start a new career. Our instructors take time to make sure you understand course work and develop your hands-on skills before moving to the next subject. Students participating in our Dental Assistant programs can learn essential front office, chair-side, lab, radiology and sterilization techniques that can make them an asset to future employers.
As a professional dental assistant, your responsibilities may include sterilizing dental instruments, preparing work areas for patient treatment, instructing patients about proper dental hygiene, processing X-rays and completing lab tasks, scheduling patient appointments, and working with patients on billing and payment.
Upon completion of the Dental Assistant programs, you will be eligible to sit for radiation and safety certification tests, which are necessary to becoming a dental assistant.
Our Dental Assistant program consists of 800 clock hours, 42 quarter credit hours and can be completed in approximately 10 ¼ months or 44 weeks.
