Distance Education at Utah State University
Through distance education, Utah State University extends its reach to provide courses and degrees in formats that make higher education accessible to students throughout Utah and around the world.
The degree you earn through USU Regional Campuses and Distance Education is exactly the same as if you were a regular on-campus student; your degree is from Utah State University.
Additional Information for Students
USU's online classrooms are powered by Blackboard®. Students enrolled in distance education programs will be able to locate syllabi, course materials, and discussions all in one place. Students interact with their instructors and classmates via e-mail, online discussions, or other online communication tools.
Online Learning Center
Utah State's Online Learning Center provides resources to students interested in independently improving their academic skills. The Center also offers guidance regarding learning and study skills specific to distance learning.
Online students have access to the University's Library Support System for Distance Learners. Some online instructors incorporate library services (the USU Online Catalog, Book Loan, and Journal Article Requests) into their online courses, making it easier for students to locate and use these services. All students enrolled in distance education courses may access Distance Education Library Services by telephone, e-mail, or on the Web.
Financial aid is available to students enrolled at Utah State University at least half-time. Applicants are encouraged to begin the financial aid process by completing the Application for Free Financial Aid (FAFSA) form. Our institution code is 003677.
Students who register for distance education courses through the DANTES program may receive full or partial tuition assistance through their respective branches of service, depending on the successful completion of their course work. Please note that the DANTES program does not cover the cost of textbooks.
